The Mappy Awards Terms & Conditions
By accepting these terms, I, the Participant, agree to the following:
- Voluntary Participation: The participation in this contest is entirely voluntary.
- Rules and Decisions:

- To abide by the contest rules
- That the decisions of the contest judges are final
- The submission or attempted submission of an entry for this Contest constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and any decisions made by the Sponsor, all decisions of which pertaining to this Contest shall be final and binding without any right of appeal. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from this Contest.
Copyright
- I, the Participant, retain the copyright and grant Wedding Venue Map a limited, non-exclusive license to use Content as consistent with its mission.
- Participant warrants that he or she is the owner of the copyright to all Content submitted to Wedding Venue Map or have permission of the copyright holder to submit the Content and that the Content does not violate any laws or the rights of any individuals or business entities including copyrights, trade secrets, privacy rights, and right to privacy.
- If there are co-creators of the submitted Content, then Participant warrants that the co-creators have all given approval for submission of the Content to this contest and for its potential use as described above.
- Pursuant to this agreement, the Participant and any co-creators grant a limited, non-exclusive license for the following usage of the Content:

- Display on the Wedding Venue Map website or Wedding Venue Map-related websites (such as a future contest website);
- Circulation via e-mail and similar messaging services (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, or an app) to Wedding Venue Map followers and the general public;
- Display on monitors/screens (in video format) to promote the mission of Wedding Venue Map;
- Promoting Wedding Venue Map and Wedding Venue Map-sponsored events (including events for which Wedding Venue Map is not the sole sponsor);
- Award-winning or finalist images may be published in print or digital form Trusted Vendor Guide in celebration of the winners and the contest
- If published, the Content will be identified (credited) as work of Participant (and co-creators, as indicated).
Accompanying Information
- Participant warrants that the information provided to Wedding Venue Map (whether entered onto the contest website or in any form of communication with Wedding Venue Map staff) is complete and accurate to the best of their knowledge.
- Participant agrees NOT to use paid or professional services to increase voting. An indication of that would warrant removal from the contest.
- Cancellation of Contest: If for any reason the contest must be canceled, as determined by Wedding Venue Map, then Wedding Venue Map will not retain any rights to the submitted content.
Entry
- The Contest opens on June 24th, 2024 at 12:01am. The closing time and date for receipt of entries is July 8th, 2024 at 11:59pm.
- The Entrant is to submit a total of fifteen (15) photos no larger than 60MB all together and any other information or media requested in the application form (the “Entry” or “Entries”).
- Entries must meet the Technical Specifications as follows:
- Images must be saved as a high resolution (at least 300 DPI) .JPG.
- Images must be less than 4MB each.The Promoter is not responsible for any misdirected, late or incomprehensible entries in the competition.
- By entering the Contest, the entrant warrants that they are the original copyright owner of their photo submission and any other associated media (the “Entry”) which is an original work and does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, or any other rights of another person unless they have been granted specific rights by the copyright owner for the sole purpose of entering this Contest.
- The Operator can refuse to accept an Entry for any reason, including but not limited to:
- vulgar, obscene, defamatory or malicious content;
- content which someone else owns the copyright or other intellectual property rights to, such as imagery, trademarks, logos, etc.;
- breach of these Terms and Conditions.
Public Vote
- The Public will then be invited to vote for their favorite Finalist (“the Public Vote”). The voting will open using the below factors.
- Voting is free.
- You may vote online once every 24 hours per venue category.
- The system also counts the unique votes (to counter vote fraud) not shown on the front end
- You may be subject to your standard internet access charges or data charges if you are using a web browser on your mobile phone.
- We reserve the right to disallow votes if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent votes have been cast (ie more votes than a human being could possibly submit in the time available without the use of software or other devices designed to make automated votes). We reserve the right to disqualify any Finalist who engages in activity which could be designed to unfairly manipulate the outcome of the Public Vote.
Finalists
- The public voting will shortlist their top 3 favorite Contestants per category (“the Finalists”) from all eligible entries received.
- Only the Finalists will be notified.
- The Finalists company names may be published.
- We reserve the right to select an alternative Finalist in the event that a Finalist is unable to be contacted.
- The Finalist who receives the highest number of public votes in each venue category will be the Contest winner.
- In the event of an exact equal number of votes, all tied Finalists will be judged by our team, who will determine at its sole discretion which Finalist should win the Contest.
Permission to Use Submitted Content
- I (the “Participant”) agree to provide Wedding Venue Map, a limited, non-exclusive license to use the image and accompanying text (all considered Content) through Wedding Venue Map’s own platforms to promote its mission. I, the Participant, acknowledge that I am at least 18 years of age and own the copyright to the content provided to Wedding Venue Map or have permission from the copyright holder to submit the Content.
